Darya Narymanava, Belarusian mezzo-soprano, praised for her “vibrant fioriture,” “dark luster,” and “impassioned vocal presence” (San Diego Story) is an internationally acclaimed artist captivating audiences with her dynamic vocal artistry and commanding stage presence.
A Resident Artist with Tri-Cities Opera for the 2024-2026 seasons, Ms. Narymanava made her company debut as the Third Lady in The Magic Flute, and went on to perform Giovanna and cover Maddalena in Verdi’s Rigoletto, in addition to several other roles during the 2024-2025 season. In her second season with the company, she is excited to bring to life several compelling characters, including La Ciesca (Gianni Schicchi), Dr. Klugman (Lucidity), and Flora (La traviata), all with Tri-Cities Opera.
In 2024, she received critical acclaim for her role debut as Dorabella in Così fan tutte with Opera Neo, following her 2023 company debut as Arbate in Mitridate, Re di Ponto.
Other recent highlights include her time with the Boston Conservatory Opera, where she portrayed a diverse range of roles, including Hannah (Older) in Laura Kaminsky’s As One, Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro, Lazuli in Chabrier’s L’étoile, and Oberon in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Ms. Narymanava was recently named a Semi-Finalist in the Annapolis Opera Competition and a 2025 Boston District Winner and New England Regional Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, having also won the Boston District in the 2022–2023 season.
A devotee of musical and dramatic excellence, Ms. Narymanava holds a Master of Music in Voice Performance (’23) and a Professional Studies Certificate (’24) from Boston Conservatory at Berklee. She also earned her Bachelor’s degree from the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, where she received extensive training in both dramatic and vocal arts.
Before her move to the United States, Ms. Narymanava served as a Festival Artist with Saint Petersburg State Theater “Zazerkalye” from 2018 to 2021, performing roles such as Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro, Golda in Fiddler on the Roof, and Sibilla in Decameron, among others. Her artistry has been recognized through various international and European competitions, and she has performed in a wide range of opera and musical productions across the globe.
